Hello parents, thank you for your interest in this book. What an important, and often sensitive, topic it is to have money talks with your kids. Over the years, many friends, clients, and family members have shared how challenging it is to talk to their children about money. They’ve come to me looking for guidance — wondering when to start, what to say, and how to make these conversations stick. As kids grow, those early questions often turn into deeper concerns: poor spending habits, financial struggles, or simply not knowing how to manage money at all.
Let’s face it, schools don’t teach kids about money. That means the responsibility falls on parents. Not just to support their kids financially, but to teach them how money works and how to build a confident, capable life with it. And that’s no small task. Money conversations can be emotional. Many parents feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to talk about finances in a way their kids will actually hear.
While I don’t have children of my own, I’ve had countless conversations with people navigating this very challenge. That’s what inspired me to write this book, to give you practical tools, conversation starters, and proven strategies to help you raise financially smart kids, without the stress or second-guessing.
This book walks you through the problems, the solutions, and a framework to approach money as both a parent and a financial leader in your home. You’ll learn to shift how you think about money, rethink your child’s role in the family’s financial future, and move past guilt, doubt, and silence that often surround these conversations.
Because your child isn’t just another expense, although, let’s be real ... it feels like that sometimes (HAHA), they are one of the most valuable investments parents will ever make. So let’s create a WIN-WIN where you gain confidence and clarity, and your child grows up empowered, equipped, and ready for a life of financial freedom.
Let’s get started.
